Jamie Mayer is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant as well as a registered nurse in Illinois. She has been providing in-home breastfeeding support since her certification in 2014. In that time, Jamie has worked with hundreds of families helping them to work through their breastfeeding challenges.

A true Chicagoan, Jamie was raised in the Roscoe Village neighborhood. She attended nursing school at the University of Illinois - Chicago. After graduating, Jamie started working as an RN at a pediatrician’s office. There, she talked with parents about some of their children’s illnesses and needs. Over the course of her employment at the office, Jamie fielded many questions about breastfeeding. Intrigued, she took a continuing education course on breastfeeding and lactation and was fascinated by how complicated breastfeeding can be. After that, she became a Lactation Educator Counselor and then an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). No longer did she have to tell parents to “call the lactation consultant” when they needed assistance, she was the lactation consultant. Jamie spent the first 6 years of her lactation carreer working with another amazing consultant that helped her to hone her craft. In that time, she has worked with hundreds of families all over Chicagoland and the near surrounding suburbs. In her free time, Jamie enjoys traveling, seeing her family, baking and playing ping pong with her husband.
